In One Chart: As Nikki Haley announces her presidential run, here are the potential 2024 Republican contenders

United States

The contest to become the Republican Party’s 2024 presidential nominee is heating up, with Nikki Haley, a former U.S. ambassador to the UN, announcing her run Tuesday.

Another notable move is South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott’s plan to make speeches next week in Iowa, a key primary state.

And former President Donald Trump also has been visiting primary states recently, after announcing back in November that he’s running again.

So who are all the GOP politicians in the mix for 2024?

Below is MarketWatch’s list of the potential Republican presidential contenders and the status of their candidacies.

Meanwhile, President Joe Biden appears poised to announce in March or April that he’ll run for president again in 2024. He repeatedly said “Let’s finish the job” in his State of the Union speech last week, and it’s possible that line will be featured in his re-election campaign.
