Glenmark Pharmaceuticals’ share price rose 2 percent in the morning trade on February 9 after the company announced the launch of nitric oxide nasal spray (NONS) in India for COVID-19 patients.
“Glenmark Pharma and Canadian pharmaceutical company SaNOtize Research & Development Corp today announced the launch of its nitric oxide nasal spray under the brand name FabiSpray in India; for the treatment of adult patients with COVID-19 who have a high risk of progression of the disease,” the company said in a press release.
Glenmark earlier received manufacturing and marketing approval from the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) for the nitric oxide nasal spray (NONS) as part of the accelerated approval process, it added.
“As a leading pharmaceutical player, it is important that we are an integral part of India’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. We are happy to receive regulatory approval for nitric oxide nasal spray (FabiSpray) and launch it in partnership with SaNOtize,” said Robert Crockart, Chief Commercial Officer, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals.
“This reaffirms our commitment of providing yet another safe and effective antiviral treatment for COVID-19, and we are confident it will offer patients a much needed and timely therapy option,” he added.

At 09.35 hours, Glenmark Pharma was quoting at Rs 494.95, up Rs 9.90, or 2.04 percent, on the BSE.
The share touched a 52-week high of Rs 690.60 on July 19, 2021 and a 52-week low of Rs 442.15 on March 25, 2021. It is trading 28.33 percent below its 52-week high and 11.94 percent above its 52-week low.
