TOKYO — Japan’s government will keep a close eye on the impact of possible U.S. interest rate cuts on the Japanese economy, the country’s finance minister said Tuesday.

“The government will continue to carefully monitor what kind of effects [U.S. rate cuts] would bring about because they could affect the Japanese economy through various ways including external demand and overseas prices,” Finance Minister Shunichi Suzuki said.
