Movers & Shakers: Netflix shares slump on revenue outlook, Tesla stock slips on margin fears and other stocks on the move

Here are some of the biggest movers of the day:

Stock gainers:

Shares of United Airlines Holdings Inc. UAL, +0.02% rose 3% in premarket trade after the air carrier raised its full-year profit outlook, following strong second-quarter results.

Zions Bancorp. ZION, +6.26% shares jumped 6% after the regional bank reported a profit that topped expectations, with executives citing a rebound in customer deposits but higher resulting costs.

Stock decliners:

Netflix Inc.‘s stock NFLX, +0.59% was off 7% after the streaming giant easily topped subscriber expectations but brought in less revenue than Wall Street was modeling and delivered a light top-line outlook for the current period.

Tesla Inc. TSLA, -0.71% shares dropped 3% after the EV maker beat Wall Street analysts for its second quarter but not in the blowout fashion that some market observers were expecting.

Shares of Discover Financial Services DFS, +0.12% dropped 12% after the company reported above-expectations quarterly results but disclosed a FDIC probe.

Equifax Inc. shares EFX, -0.13% fell 5% in the after-hours session after the credit-reporting company reduced its full-year forecast, blaming a weak mortgage market.

Casino operator Las Vegas Sands Corp.  LVS, -0.57% reported second-quarter results that beat expectations, amid a broader rebound in tourism spending at its properties in Singapore and Macau, but shares fell 4%.
