Dow Jones Newswires: Japan’s exports grew for 17th consecutive month in July

Japan’s exports rose for the 17th month in a row in July, driven by strong demand for autos and mineral fuels, Ministry of Finance data showed Wednesday.

Exports rose 19% in July from a year earlier, which was slightly stronger than the 18.2% increase expected by economists surveyed by FactSet. Exports rose 19.4% in June.

EU-bound shipments led the growth, increasing by 31.6%, mainly due to the robust demand for autos and semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
