Who is the wealthiest billionaire in your country?
Just ask HowMuch.net. The cost-estimating data visualization website aggregated a list of the richest person in each country and filtered it by only billionaires. Each map shows the richest people, their estimated net worth and industry.
Among those on the map are Germany’s Karl Albrecht Jr., who amassed $ 29.2 billion after founding supermarket chain Aldi, Italy’s Maria Franca Fissolo, widow of Nutella creator Michele Ferrero, and Saudi Arabia’s Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal, who is currently being detained at the Ritz-Carlton as part of a corruption probe.
Missing from this list: many billionaires on Bloomberg’s ranking of the world’s richest people, including Microsoft’s MSFT, -0.73% Bill Gates, Warren Buffett BRK.A, +0.00% and Facebook’s FB, -0.54% Mark Zuckerberg.
Amazon AMZN, +1.46% CEO Jeff Bezos snagged the spot for richest billionaire in the U.S. with an estimated $ 96.6 billion net worth. Bezos’s net worth has recently skyrocketed following Amazon’s acquisition of Whole Foods and the announcement of a competition for the location of a second headquarters.

Seven of the top 10 richest people in the world are from the United States, but Jeff Bezos takes the cake for No. 1 richest.
The richest person in Europe is Spain’s Amancio Ortega. Ortega, who is best known as the founder of retailer Zara’s parent company Inditex. His net worth is more than $ 74 billion.
The richest person in Asia is Alibaba BABA, -0.56% founder Jack Ma. The countries west of China, stretching toward Syria, don’t have any billionaires.
The richest person in South America is Jorge Paulo Lemann, who made his money by investing in breweries.
Very few African countries are home to billionaires. Of those that are billionaires, most made their money from industries including diamonds and food.
