Lead futures gain 0.82 pc on overseas trend, spot demand
Posted on Monday, August 1, 2011 - 12:49 pm NEW DELHI: Amid a firm trend overseas and increased domestic demand,lead prices rose by 0.82 per cent to Rs 117.20 per kg in futures trade today.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange,lead for delivery in August traded higher by 95 paise, or 0.82 per cent, to Rs 117.20 per kg, with a business turnover of 1,230 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in September edged up by 85 paise, or 0.73 per cent, to Rs 117.85 per kg, with an open interest of 30 lots.
Analysts said a firm trend in metals at the London Metal Exchange and increased domestic demand from consuming industries mainly influenced lead prices at futures trade.
Meanwhile, lead rose by 1.2 per cent to USD 2,645 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
